Poland and Hungary (and probably soon Romania) have joined the lawsuit against von der Leyen.
Mar 31, 2024
Poland, Hungary and Romania have joined or are about to join the current trial against Ursula von der Leyen. According to MEPs, the conspiracy between Leyen and Pfizer is probably one of the biggest corruption scandals in history.

According to the MEPs, the “Leyen-Pfizer conspiracy” is considered one of the largest corruption scandals in history. It concerns the contract between Pfizer and the EU regarding the mRNA Covid injections. Pfizer has already sued EU states on the basis of the (gag) contract – and no one knows what Pfizer CEO Bourla and Ursula von der Leyen communicated privately at the time. The story is now one chapter richer: Poland, Hungary and Romania have joined the current lawsuit against Ursula von der Leyen, or are in the process of doing so.
At the center of the political and legal affair is the contract between the EU and Pfizer, which is still not (officially) public. After an analysis, Olivier Frot, a lawyer with a doctorate, explained years ago: “A contract that is so favorable to the industrialist seems abnormal to me.” The affair also includes the text messages between Bourla and Pfizer, which were presumably destroyed.
In this context, the Belgian lobbyist Frédéric Baldan filed a criminal complaint against Leyen in Liège on 5 April 2023. The charges: abuse of office, destruction of documents as well as unlawful pursuit of interests and corruption. The Belgian judge then looked for the text messages. TKP reported in detail at the time.
The dispute between Baldan and Leyen quickly became political. His lobby license was revoked, and in June he asked: “In light of the cases, can Ursula Von der Leyen remain President of the European Commission?” This was followed by a civil lawsuit at the Court of Justice of the EU, in which he called for the suspension of Ursula Von der Leyen and the EU Commissioners while the criminal case against them is ongoing. Also in order to build political pressure. Florian Philippot, leader of the national-sovereignist French party “Les Patriotes,” joined the lawsuit. A Belgian party also filed a lawsuit.
The mainstream media barely cover this legal-political affair. Michelle Rivasi’s mysterious death was also not an issue. She was the most important EU representative in the hunt for corruption – that is what TKP reported.
But sometimes journalists still do their job. France Soir published a detailed investigation on the subject on Monday. And was even able to discover new things. First, a statement from the investigating judge from Liège is reproduced:
“I am not legally authorized to answer your questions. I am forwarding a copy to the King’s public prosecutor in Liège and Mrs Vanderputten of the EPPO (the European Public Prosecutor’s Office), whom you can contact.”
They were also forwarded there – to Tine Hollevoet, spokesperson for the European Public Prosecutor’s Office. She then said:
“The investigation into the acquisition of the COVID-19 vaccines in the EU is still ongoing and is subject to investigative secrecy in an attempt to preserve evidence that is useful for establishing the truth. For this reason, we cannot give you further details at this time. As soon as we are able to report publicly on this investigation, we will share the information through the usual media.”
But the investigation is apparently also being obstructed. The French media reported that “the EPPO would hinder the case, so that the investigating judge could not carry out his investigation.” That would essentially be a judicial scandal without precedent. France Soir comes to the conclusion in its investigation:
“The EPPO is exceeding its powers in the Baldan-Von der Leyen case.”
But the journalists discover something else. States, including Poland and Hungary, which themselves were sued by Pfizer – TKP has reported – have joined Baldan’s lawsuit. This has never happened before. Romania, which has also been sued by Pfizer, is said to also want to join the lawsuit.
France Soir: These two states (Poland and Hungary, ed.) and Romania were also the subject of independent summonses before the Belgian courts by the company Pfizer Inc. in order to “force these countries to respect their obligations with regard to the orders for Covid-19 vaccines according to their contracts signed up to 2021,” as can be read on page 100 of Pfizer Inc’s annual report. In plain language, Pfizer demands “full payment for the vaccine doses” ordered through the European contract, many elements of which Mrs Von der Leyen discussed and potentially negotiated with President Bourla.
Hungary explained, in a response seen by France-Soir, “that it is experiencing payment difficulties and is questioning the contract as a result of the influx of refugees from Ukraine.... demanded.” It has since emerged that at least one other country, Romania, has filed or is in the process of filing a lawsuit with Judge Frenay.
The situation is very complex, with a lawsuit against President Ursula Von der Leyen supported by at least 10 plaintiffs (Baldan, Vivant Ostbelgien, the Belgian political party, Les Patriotes and at least two European countries...), at a time when she is trying to run for another term as president. In this respect alone, the public Senate analysis of 16 March should be supplemented.
States have never filed criminal charges against the sitting president of a commission. This extraordinary fact alone should not allow her to run again. The EU Treaty and the code of conduct that defines the office of a commissioner require that they meet the highest standards of morality, ethics and honesty.
The rumor mill is bubbling in the parliament, and tongues are loosened when one is asked about Mr Baldan’s complaint: “Ursula was in a blue rage. (Color of anger in Belgium!). This was already reported in June 2023.
So the Pfizer-Leyen affair is smoldering in the background. Absurd: At the same time, Leyen wants to be President of the Commission for another five years. The majority of journalists who have contacts and resources are looking the other way. But the affair did not end there. Florian Philippot, the French politician, wrote about the France Soir report that it was “enormous”: “Truth and justice are advancing inexorably! Ursula and all the main protagonists will not be able to escape their responsibility!”
